I really appreciate that post Pat. I still have worked with hot's since then, but only on rare occasion's. I did about 4-5 month's ago actually slip and fall and get nailed by a baby Copperhead it was a very mild invenomation though. Thanks again and catch me a really pretty B. Atrox LOL..

I would love to have a Atheris species some time. Hispida, man, they are fkn pretty.

Too bad there's no antivenin and I'm too prone to wanting to hold them.

Erik I used to hold my A. Chlorechis like a BP (no lie and watch the Croc Hunter) she was a very sweet and calm snake. The bite was 100% feeding responce, but S.A.I.M.R (South African Institute Of Medical Reaserch) antivenin will work for every Atheris ssp, since studies were done after my envenomation. The Doctor actually published a article in the medical journal about the envenomation. They are not an extreamly fatal species, but as you saw in the pic and reading from the article you really would not wanna take any chances. Erik if you ever do decide to get one in the future use snake handeling tool's. They are small snake's and fairly easy to work with except for the fact they are aboreal and can be a pain in the ass getting off the hook LOL.
